SWCC Hedgehog Hospital addresses the rapid decline of hedgehogs due to habitat loss, road accidents, & injury from human activity. We provide critical medical care, safe rehabilitation & public awareness. Our work helps preserve biodiversity, supports local ecosystems & inspires community action to protect this iconic and threatened species. Additionally we launched our citizen science project with our Blue Tag release programme, encouraging communities to help monitor our released animals.

We solve this problem by providing medical treatment & rehabilitation for hedgehogs in need, giving them the best chance of survival & release back into the wild. Our dedicated team monitor each animal’s recovery & locates suitable release sites. We also engage with the public through education and outreach, promoting hedgehog-friendly practices in gardens. By combining hands-on care with awareness, we help reverse hedgehog decline & help to enhance local wildlife areas helping all species.
