We are supporting 70 vulnerable elderly people in four rural villages in Tamil Nadu, India, through day-care centres that provide nutritious meals, health care, and psychosocial support. The project improves dignity, wellbeing, and health for isolated older people.

Rural elderly people in India face social isolation, poor health, malnutrition, and limited access to healthcare. Traditional family support systems are breaking down, leaving older people, especially women, vulnerable to neglect, poverty, and declining physical and mental wellbeing.
We will support four day-care centres offering nutritious meals, basic health care, physiotherapy, social activities, and referrals to specialist services. Local women from Self Help Groups cook, care for, and monitor the elderly, ensuring consistent, community-based support for healthy ageing.
