PAWA is a non-profit charity that supports various projects in South and Southeast Asia to raise funds and support teenage girls' education in underprivileged communities. Working for 15 years, we have 11 projects in our portfolio, with two in Nepal that we will focus our 2025 Match fundraising on.

PAWA aims to combat poverty and gender inequality in Asia by improving access to education for girls and women. In Nepal, many girls face barriers to schooling, perpetuating cycles of poverty and discrimination. By supporting local projects with the Nepal Jesuit Society, PAWA raises awareness about the importance of closing the gender gap in education. Educating girls empowers them to challenge injustice, gain independence, and uplift their families and communities.
PAWA supports orphans, single parented children, abandoned children, children at risk and differently abled children from various districts of Nepal. St Xavier’s, Sadakbari in East Nepal was established in 1992 to educate marginalized children in the area. Most adults work in tea gardens as labourers and domestic help often on low/daily wages with no security of employment. Households often comprise multi generation extended families.
