Talent is everywhere; opportunity is not. Where you grow up, go to school and what your parents do for work still makes a big difference to your future. The young people we support have high potential and determination but lack connections and opportunities to succeed. We’re changing this. In the words of our student, Edden: “I wanted to get into law, but no one in my family had any existing connections. Without the SMF, I wouldn’t have had any of those experiences to help me with my career".

Our Aspiring Professionals Programme is designed with and for young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds to build their confidence, knowledge and networks, whilst opening doors to opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Over a five-year programme, we provide students with practical support on their educational and career journey. This builds their understanding of their options and how to achieve their goals, meaning they have a fair chance to fulfil their potential and succeed
