Malawi faces deep youth poverty and inequality. Over 70% of children are multi-dimensionally poor. Though 91% access primary school, fewer than half complete it. 10.4% live with disabilities and face exclusion. Early marriage and limited access to inclusive education, sport, and safe spaces leave many youth without the support, mentorship, and life skills needed to grow, thrive, and break cycles of poverty.

Bhubesi Pride Foundation (BPF) empowers youth in Malawi through inclusive sport at its Mtema Community Centre and through school partnerships. Their Clubs for Development (C4D) programme offers netball and non-contact rugby, engaging 694 young people (365 female & 83 with disabilities) last year. Through weekly sessions, sexual and reproductive health rights education, and coach training, C4D not only promotes physical health, but also builds skills, confidence and resilience.
