We are asking for support for our family of 180 volunteers, about 120 of whom have additional needs or come from a background of vulnerability Based in St Anns, in the top 7% of the most deprived wards, we are a free-to-enter city farm providing an oasis of green space, education and recreation.

Many of our local families are challenged by multiple deprivation including severe financial pressures. We strive to keep the farm free to enter to give access to the recreational, educational and health benefits that this brings to many people who would not otherwise have access to, and knowledge about farming, the care of animals or environmental management. Most of our volunteers have additional needs and so the farm provides invaluable support both to the community and our volunteer family

Last year we had around 100,000 visits, many of them from local families together with about 1,500 school children who cam to learn about farming and the natural environment. We put on many community activities centred around multicultural music and food, and crafts for young people. Most activities are free. We take pride on being a community hub. We also work hard to support and develop our volunteers giving them meaningful work experience and social contact; a true sense of being valued.
