Raising the funds to refresh and refurbish The Dukes' front of house cafe bar, toilets facilities, accessible entrances, and The Rake, our largest performance space. With the support of the community, we will create a high quality environment for all our audiences to enjoy the best in the arts.

The Dukes offers high quality live theatre, film, comedy and music, reflecting its cultural importance in the county of Lancashire. Our audiences recognise this quality, however feedback from audience surveys shows that their views on our theatre building do not reflect the views on our programme. Many visitors state that our performance spaces, front of house and toilets are tired, shabby and uncomfortable. We also have problems with our accessible entrance which we would like to address.
We are currently working through a programme of refurbishing the seats in The Rake, using donations from supporters to our Renovate the Rake fund. With a Big Give campaign, we would be able to broaden this refresh within The Rake, and also extend the improvements into the front of house areas and toilet facilities and improve access for all our audience members. This would include refurbishing and replacing flooring, decorating, refurbishing the toilets and improving access into our building.
