Many musicians face financial instability. Our 2023 survey of 6,000+ musicians found an average income of £20,700, with nearly half earning under £14,000. Most are freelancers, and only 14% have sick pay—so illness or injury can end careers. With limited public support, Help Musicians provides vital healthcare and financial aid, helping artists recover and build sustainable careers. Without this, many would lose their livelihoods. Help Musicians is essential to sustaining UK musical talent.

Help Musicians protects musicians' livelihoods in times of need and times of opportunity. Our services are tailored to their unique pressures and are easily accessible, especially in urgent situations. With over 1,000 cases managed annually, we support musicians throughout their lives and careers such as with financial support and business advice sessions. Donations help ensure vital services remain available to any musician in need.
