Challenging MND supports people affected by Motor Neurone Disease—a terminal illness affecting 5,000 people in the UK at any time. With no cure and an average life expectancy of just 2–3 years, MND causes rapid muscle wasting while the mind stays alert. Many face long delays accessing essential equipment, home adaptations, or support. Challenging MND steps in to fund vital needs and meaningful experiences, helping families maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life.
We aim to support as many people living with MND across the UK as possible by addressing the lack of access to meaningful experiences, specialist equipment, and tailored support. MND is a progressive, life-limiting condition, and too often individuals and their families are left isolated. We provide life-enhancing opportunities that improve well-being, create lasting memories, and offer vital respite and support during an incredibly difficult journey
