The death of a child is the most devastating loss a parent can experience. The Compassionate Friends offer peer support to parents who have lost a child, from any cause and of any age (1 month old into adulthood). We also offer some support to bereaved adult siblings and grandparents.

Being bereaved of a child or sibling causes intense and prolonged grief and social isolation, leading to poor mental and physical health. It can also prevent parents and families from being able to work, leading to financial difficulties and a lower quality of life.

TCF offers compassion and support from bereaved parent and sibling volunteers who understand the complex and devastating grief of losing a child or sibling. We produce supportive leaflets, facilitate local walks, support groups, support days and overnight retreats. We have a national helpline, a postal library, private social media groups, online support groups and offer ongoing 1-to-1 support.
