As the temperature drops, you can help bring light and warmth to people across the UK through the simple, powerful act of communities sharing food. FareShare redistributes surplus food to 8,000 charities. They provide safe, welcoming spaces where people find nourishment, connection, and dignity.

10.9 million people in the UK can’t afford enough food to eat – which includes 2.7 million children. And yet 4.6 million tonnes of good food go to waste each year. Rising costs are adding more pressure to households, local communities and those who serve them. 8 in 10 charities expect demand for surplus food to continue to grow. Over half say that without FareShare they would likely have to close their food services.
FareShare is the UK’s leading food redistribution charity. Working together with our suppliers, our network and 8,000 incredible local charities and grassroots organisations, we work to ensure that good-to-eat surplus food reaches the people who need it. We turn surplus into sustenance, meals into moments of care, and community spaces into places of warmth, welcome, and hope. Last year, we reached over 1 million people thanks to the kindness of our network partners, supporters and volunteers.
