The current family law system for separating parents is often biased, lengthy, and costly, causing stress for both parents and children. Child Arrangement decisions tend to favour the resident parent, limiting the involvement of both parents and wider family. The adversarial nature of legal proceedings escalates conflict instead of fostering cooperation. The system overlooks children’s best interests by focusing more on parental rights than the emotional and developmental needs of children.

We run a number of parent support groups around the country and a national helpline to provide families with resources, guidance and emotional support to navigate separation in ways that put children first. We also collaborate with policymakers, legal systems, and communities to champion fair practices that protect children’s rights and well-being after separation. Our mission is for every child to thrive through meaningful relationships with both parents and wider family after separation.
