10% of adults in the UK (7.3 Million) are classed as being food insecure, and an estimated 9.5 million tonnes of surplus food is wasted each year. We are on a mission to prevent good surplus food from going to waste and ensuring it reaches those who are most in need in our communities.

UKHarvest was established in 2017 with a dual mission, to rescue surplus food destined for destruction and distribute it to households experiencing food insecurity, whilst supporting those who utilise these services with wraparound advice and help whilst encouraging food and nutritional education. We ensure no good food is wasted by redistributing it via our Community Food Hubs, School Grub Clubs and The Nourish Hub our community restaurant based in Shepherds Bush, London.
We rescue surplus food from a network of 116 growers, manufacturers, wholesalers & retailers. This is then redistributed to individuals at 16 Community Food Hubs in West Sussex, our 15 school Grub Clubs and The Nourish Hub, which provides up to 1,000 meals per week. Alongside this we support a further 167 local redistributors and community groups to support some of those most in need in otherwise difficult to reach communities, whilst offering food education programmes accessible to all.
