Families and displaced, traumatised children in Palestine are living in poverty and overcrowded conditions. At Christmas our partners deliver emergency food and energy grants to families and run an activity day to provide a safe space for 600 children to celebrate and reclaim their childhood.

Since October 2023, 200,000 Palestinians in the West Bank have lost their jobs due to Israeli blockades and families are struggling to survive in the economic crisis. 40,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from Jenin as Israeli forces have repeatedly killed, injured & destroyed houses. Amongst them are 600 displaced and deeply traumatised children who are living in makeshift shelters in Zababdeh. They do not have access to safe spaces to play and many lack psychosocial support.
We support our Palestinian partners to serve their diverse communities. Sabeel offers food and energy grants to families in critical need. They are identified through trusted local clergy making the selection process quick and effective. Kairos Palestine, with the YMCA, will run a Christmas activity day for displaced children in Zababdeh providing games, a hot meal, theatre and a visit from Santa. To our knowledge no other organisation in the area is doing this for forcibly displaced children.
