In2Out offers 1-2-1 bespoke support to 15-21 year old young offenders, starting in custody and continuing in communities across the North of England and the Midlands. Our support helps reduce reoffending as our participants make a fresh start, better equipped to navigate life 'on the out'.

Young people in prison are some of the most vulnerable in society, with many having suffered deprivation, abuse or neglect, and/or mental health issues. In 2024, 68% of In2Out participants have been in local authority care. With chaotic lifestyles and fractured family structures, they lack positive life experiences, a support network and emotional maturity to manage life 'on the out'. Nationally, on average, 66% of 15-18 year olds reoffend within 12 months of leaving custody.

In2Out mentors provide bespoke, 1-2-1 support, building relationships of trust in custody which continue 'through the gate' and into the community. They help with *basic life skills *accessing care packages and statutory assistance *finding employment, education or training opportunities *developing social skills *developing consequential thinking, managing triggers to offending behaviour and building resilience. We believe the future is one of hope rather than crisis-living.
