Experiences of nature early in life fosters a lifelong connection and boosts mental health. However research shows that young people's connection to nature drops sharply, especially with those between 9 and 16 years old. Our Outdoor Learning programme will ignite passion for nature in young people.

Young people’s connection to nature drops sharply from the age of 9 and communities experiencing the highest levels of health & financial inequalities are more than twice as likely to live in areas with lower access to nature. Social barriers such as families feeling excluded, cost of living issues or low confidence due to fewer early life experiences of the outdoors is impacting young people's opportunities to boost mental health, understand environmental challenges and be inspired by nature.
One of the best ways to engage young people with nature is by bringing nature to them. We therefore have a school ground nature programme which provides teachers and pupils with a range of tools, resources, advice and activities to bring nature to their school; something they can easily engage with and be inspired by every week. Research shows that outdoor learning experiences can be more effective for developing cognitive skills than classroom based learning; a win for nature and young people.
