Right now, too many women in Bristol are being forced to survive on the streets, with nowhere safe to sleep, often hiding in fear for their safety. Last winter 44 women turned to Spring of Hope as they fled abuse and homelessness. Women are at a significantly higher risk of experiencing abuse and violent or sexual assault, compared to men and are therefore often walking the streets at night, in cold, wet conditions, terrified of what could happen should they fall asleep.
Spring of Hope offers a warm, safe, and welcoming bed for women facing homelessness. In this vital single-sex shelter, women find a safe place to sleep, nourishment, a warm shower, laundry facilities, clothing, and essential personal supplies. With space for up to 8 women each night, this shelter offers a safe, secure refuge every day of the year. Additional day services support health and wellbeing and help the women transition to more stable and permanent housing.
