Many vulnerable women, often lacking family or community support, struggle during pregnancy and their children’s early years, which are a critical time for children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development. Perinatal depression, disability, lone parenting, domestic abuse, poverty and poor housing all add to the intrinsic challenges of early motherhood, risking crisis and long-term harm to mothers’ wellbeing, poor bonding with their children, and adverse childhood experiences.

Our staff and trained volunteers, 98% women, provide practical and emotional peer support to women through 1:1 home visiting and structured group activities, intervening early to prevent harm and improve outcomes. Woman to woman we model ways to navigate the challenges that negatively affect mother/child bonds, maternal confidence and children’s development. Our support improves mothers' resilience and empowers them to give their children the best foundations for a secure and positive future.
