Rising living costs have led to an increase in bursary applications. With no endowment, unlike many other co-educational schools, St Margaret’s relies on fundraising to provide means-tested bursaries and widen access. Without support, talented girls miss out. Bursaries are our fundraising priority.

As the one of just two all girls' schools in Scotland, we offer a unique environment where girls can thrive. Designed to overcome gender stereotypes, for 180 years, our calm, focused classrooms bring together young women who are eager to learn and succeed. Research shows that girls often achieve more in all-girls’ schools where they they have the freedom to be themselves and explore more opportunities. Rising living costs have, however, made a St Margaret's education unaccessible for many.
A bursary to attend St Margaret’s removes the financial barrier to an education designed specifically for girls. It opens the door to a rich curriculum, a range of extra-curricular opportunities, and an environment where girls are empowered to thrive. With a track record of academic excellence, success in STEM, small class sizes and a close community where each girl is known and supported, we provide an education that builds confidence, potential and success. Bursaries make this possible.
