Women across our neighbourhood are living in fear. Fear of being humiliated, kicked, punched or worse by the very person that’s meant to love them. Will you help give them one safe space where they can heal and build a more positive future?

Around one in four women will experience domestic abuse and every three days a woman dies from violence in the UK. Within Luton, for every 10,000 women there are 58 high risk abuse cases per year. The national average is 43. Abused women are often socially isolated and in poor mental health. High levels of local deprivation mean many must choose between food and heating. They deal with all this whilst juggling childcare and navigating complex statutory processes in an effort to get help.

Women often don’t report abuse to the authorities, so our work as an independent women’s only service is essential. We help 300 women a year by: •Bringing them together in group work to build confidence and tackle isolation •Delivering one-to-one trauma-informed support and counselling •Offering services online, by phone and in our centrally located service centre •Providing free childcare, so having a child isn’t a barrier to accessing help •Advocating on their behalf with statutory agencies.
