Young people have huge potential but lack the skills, confidence and opportunities to step into this, and to succeed in employment. They’re stuck in their circumstances, hopeless about their future and unable to change their life trajectory. There are nearly a million young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the UK, and while entering employment is part of the solution, this reality feels unattainable for those struggling the most.
Solution
Resurgo’s Spear Programme equips unemployed 16-24-years-olds, facing significant barriers to work, with both the practical tools they need to get a job, and the resilience to overcome deep-rooted attitudes that are holding them back. Trainees receive up to six weeks of expert coaching in a supportive peer environment, including practical training such as mock interviews, and up to 12 months of personalised support from their coach to help them find and sustain work.
