Half of the world has seriously untapped potential. From a young age, children start to see ‘jobs for boys’ and ‘jobs for girls’. Girls start to opt out of certain subjects because they feel they are not good enough. And they don’t have enough women doing different jobs in their line of vision, to inspire and inform them about the work they do. Gender stereotypes have a major impact on girls all over the world, shaping their career ambitions and perceptions of their own abilities.
Representation matters - if you can see it, you can be it! When girls see and hear from diverse women role models working in different jobs, it challenges gender stereotypes, raises awareness of opportunities, and significantly boosts their self-confidence and aspirations. Inspiring Girls brings these amazing women to schools and events all over the world, ensuring all girls everywhere can dream, believe and achieve, and that their voices are heard in a healthy, more equitable society.
