Her Centre supports women who are experiencing abuse by adult children. To support these women, we will expand our specialist support group for women to a weekly group providing mutual support, facilitated by a trained counselor. We will also provide workshops to build women's confidence.

Her Centre has seen a rise in mothers facing abuse from their adult children — a hidden, stigmatised form of domestic abuse. Many experience fear, anxiety, feeling of helplessness and shame and tend to suffer in silence with little support for their safety or well-being. A lot of women are reluctant to seek help because of the love for their children or fear of criminal consequences and damages to the child's future.

By funding a support group and workshops we can give women the tools to make their lives safer and share information on support for their adult child should they want this. Many abusers have mental ill health and can't or won't get support. Giving women a space to share will help them find the services that are most helpful as well as being able to talk without shame with women in the same circumstances. Workshops on anxiety and confidence building will further empower women to take action .
