Domestic abuse impacts thousands of women, yet access to vital mental health support is often out of reach. In 23/24 London reported 94,000 domestic abuse cases, though fewer than 24% are officially recorded, indicating a far greater crisis. Tragically more women die by suicide after abuse than are murdered by a partner—one woman takes her life every week. Survivors are more likely to face depression, PTSD and anxiety and are three times more likely to attempt suicide.
Woman’s Trust was established in 1996 to address the gap in mental health support for women affected by domestic abuse. We provide free, women-only, therapeutic services in London. Our BACP accredited services help women overcome the psychological harm caused by domestic abuse and rebuild their lives. Our counsellors provide a tailored, empowering therapy designed to meet each woman's unique needs, fostering healing and resilience. This approach has been proven most effective for survivors.
