Trafficking and exploitation are widespread and the effect on people’s lives is devastating. In the UK last year, nearly 20,000 victims of modern slavery were referred into the government system—many of them women and girls experiencing prolonged abuse. Escape is just the first step. The women’s needs are multiple and complex, and there’s a recognised lack of intensive, long-term, specialist support required for recovery. Without this, they remain extremely vulnerable to further harm.
Ella’s helps women survivors of trafficking and exploitation rebuild their lives with safety and dignity—by providing safe housing, one-to-one care, and long-term community support. We make sure survivors get the practical help they need, including immigration advice, healthcare, counselling, and training, to promote healing and independence. We speak out on the issues survivors face and stand by them as long as we are needed. Demand is urgent and growing. Please help us reach more women.
