Everyone should have access to good food, but the cost-of-living scandal is still driving ever more people into poverty. The cost of essentials remains so high that people are having to go without food, heating or both – or face falling into dangerous debt. Everybody values community, but people on low incomes in the UK are often isolated, excluded from taking part or having a say. It can be hard to access services and support which could help people deal with challenges in a dignified way.
Your Local Pantries provide both food and community – and more. Across the UK, over 120,000 people have found friendship, food and freedom through Pantry membership. For a weekly membership fee of £3.50-7.00, Pantry members can choose a basket of groceries and worth an average of £21. Pantry members saved over £5 million on their shopping in 2023-24.
