We are raising money for our award winning, SHE-roes Lounge and Peer group. We support survivors of childhood sexual abuse/rape and this unique service provides a safe space to connect with others, build confidence and be empowered to take back control of their lives, improving health and wellbeing.

The impact of childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence is significant in our area (top 10% of deprived areas). The trauma associated with it is very complex, affecting many areas of a survivors life in adulthood - from mental health issues, feelings of isolation and lack of confidence to forming healthy relationships, inability to form social connections or engage in ordinary activities such as employment, training or feel a part of their community. Sadly, demand for our services has exploded.
We will bring survivors together in our weekly group where they will meet other survivors, fostering a sense of belonging and safety. Mornings are dedicated to facilitation of self-development courses enabling women to understand the effects of abuse, manage emotions and develop positive mindset. The afternoon is a social space where survivors build social connections, have fun and enjoy trying out activities such as salsa, jewellery making, drumming or learning budgeting skills and life skills.
