Music specialist jobs have been substantially reduced yet our primary teachers don't receive training in music delivery which means children have limited exposure to music-making and singing in school. Scotland's community choir leaders are predominantly freelance individuals without access to affordable, experience-appropriate professional training, resources and advocacy. Our community music leadership is not as diverse as our population, and the support to develop skills isn't available.

Our vision is "life-enhancing music making for everyone", which means providing inclusive, confidence-building participation opportunities for people of all backgrounds, as well as supporting others leading this work. We will deliver sector support programmes designed for existing and emerging community music leaders and non-music specialist primary teachers, which start from where an individual is rather than relying on previous education or formal training, developed alongside participants.
