Working in Scotland’s most under-resourced areas, our aim is to make learning fun. Our writing workshops empower young people to build their writing skills and express themselves with confidence. We improve self-esteem and aspiration via the most fundamental superpower – the ability to write.

As an organisation, we focus our efforts in areas that sit high on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation as we know that limited access to vital resources has a knock-on effect for young people. Being literate allows us to explore and communicate what we think, feel, and know. We believe that nobody should be deprived of creative outlets, even if the places they grow up don’t have a fair share of services and opportunities. The ability to write their story, can right their story.

The Super Power Agency offers free writing workshops to young people aged 8-18, with the help of volunteers drawn from communities where the work takes place. During these workshops learners explore the potential of the written word, strengthen their writing skills and expand creativity. The goal of these sessions is to support young writers and to amplify their voice. We publish everything that is written, giving a sense of accomplishment and pride with a book!
