There are an estimated 130,000 victims of modern slavery in the UK today with c500 identified in Derbyshire since 2019. Individuals who have been exploited face significant barriers to recovery, placing them in situations that increase their vulnerability to further harm and exploitation. Challenges include: housing instability; lack of ID; legal/immigration issues; accessing employment or education; physical and mental health impacts. Rebuild exists to break the cycle of exploitation.

Rebuild provides practical, emotional and community support to adults recovering from the impact of exploitation to enable and empower them to rebuild their lives. We provide long-term advocacy and practical assistance tailored to each individual’s unique needs, emotional support through wellbeing initiatives, therapy and coaching, and community support through group activities. Our Initial Support project provides immediate support to individuals who have just exited exploitation.
