We intend to run events for the families we support during the Summer Holidays. We will run two buses to Almond Valley Heritage Centre and hold Fun Days in the local park. These families would normally find such trips difficult to do due to financial constraints or physical/mental health issues.

Situation
Families are referred to Home-Start Kirkcaldy as the family is struggling with the challenges of parenting and this could impact on the wellbeing of the children. The summer holiday period can be difficult as many groups and activities run term time only leading to isolation. Often children rarely get the opportunity to get out of their town and experience new things. On low limited incomes it can be difficult to find the money for entry fees or even transport to places of interest.
Solution
Summer Day Trip - We will give families the chance to have a day out together, make memories and have fun. We will pay for travel and entry fees to Almond Valley Heritage Centre. Fun Days - We will run 2 Fun Days in the park to give families the chance to meet up, maintain connections they have begun to make at our groups and introduce them to local amenities.
