Greater Manchester faces challenges with unemployment and poverty, disproportionately affecting women, with over 35,000 unemployed women actively looking for work. Barriers such as career gaps, skills shortages, and care giving strain women’s employment prospects. Smart Works offers coaching, interview prep and attire, helping women build confidence, secure jobs and achieve stability, fostering economic growth, gender equality, and social equity in the region.
Our charity builds confidence in unemployed women by helping them recognise and value their unique lived experiences. Through personalised coaching, we guide women to translate these experiences into workplace competencies, enhancing CVs and interview skills. By offering professional attire and practice sessions, we equip them to present themselves effectively. This holistic approach helps women overcome barriers, secure meaningful employment, and regain financial and personal independence.
