Beneficiaries
Our beneficiaries are young people from low-income families and BME communities. Because of their financial disadvantage, social exclusion, and cultural barriers, they don't access mainstream physical activity and sports opportunities. This is a pity, because accessing sports is proven to improve mental and physical health immeasurably, boost aspirations, improve social inclusion, and our beneficiaries' disadvantaged lives would be greatly improved by accessing the benefits of physical activity
We would like to set up Project 'The World is my Oyster' by giving young people the opportunity to participate in Sports and use their energy in a healthy way by competing. We do not have a huge area for use in sports and would have to stick to such sports as do not need huge expanses of space. We would therefore begin with Basketball outdoors as well as Aerobics and Movement and Dance sessions indoors. We would hire tutors to teach these young people how to play and create teams for competing.
