40% of all refugees live in makeshift camps having fled conflict, experienced trauma and lost everything. International schemes support the most vulnerable to begin new lives in safe countries, but they will face a set of new challenges. They may need help with learning English, accessing health or education, understanding the basics of life in a new culture and finding community. It can be hard to find employment without local or sector knowledge or when qualifications may not be valid here.

RRN works with landlords to source and prepare housing and has a dedicated team of trained volunteers who support families on arrival to address challenges they face in rebuilding their lives. We provide expert English language support, help people find work and connect people to their local area, to resources and to each other. We also run activity programmes and provide for immediate needs such as clothing, IT equipment, and furniture.
