Between 250 and 300 women access the support of our charity every year, but we know many more want, and need, to do so. Many women are unable to attend our premises for fear of perpetrators finding out, or because of financial constraints. We need to make it easier for support to be given.

1 in 4 women experience Domestic Abuse at some point in their lives. Every 3 days a woman dies from violence by a man. Right now, as you are reading this, there are 7% of women in the UK experiencing some form of domestic abuse. These women want, need, and deserve support, but many are unable to access services due to their perpetrator needing to know where they are, or because they cannot afford the travel cost or technology needed to access online support. This puts them at increased risk.

We want to increase awareness of domestic abuse within organisations across our community, educating the staff and workers to be able to spot signs and risk factors, and know how to refer vulnerable women to us for support. We also need to improve accessibility, and have a presence in community centres, ESOL sites, schools, GP surgeries, libraries, job centres and similar venues, so that women who may find it hard to reach out can access support and do so in a safe and innocuous setting.
