4.3 million children are living in poverty (Child Poverty Action Group), with many attending school in broken shoes held together with rubber bands and glue. Without proper footwear, they miss PE, have wet feet in rain, and can't play outside. School shoes are mandatory and expensive, creating impossible choices for families. 1/10 families go into debt buying uniforms (Children's Society). 81% of families receiving our shoes report they would otherwise cut back on food to afford footwear.

We aim to reduce the impact of poverty, ensuring every child has well-fitting shoes for school, sport, play. Our School Shoes Project buys discounted new school/PE shoes from corporate partners, reaching families via our UK-wide network of community organisations including: food banks, schools, social workers, domestic violence refuges, refugee centres.   Last year we provided 55K pairs of school shoes to disadvantaged families. We are the only UK charity doing what we do.
