The Young Lives Foundation addresses the challenges faced by vulnerable young people in Kent, particularly those impacted by trauma, neglect, and poverty. With 1 in 6 youth experiencing mental health issues and 16% living in poverty, there’s an urgent need for support. We have built a strong reputation for supporting young people, receiving five referrals daily from schools, social workers, and personal advisers concerned about their well-being, particularly mental health.
Our Mentoring Programme operates in schools, communities, and corporate environments, offering tailored support to meet the unique needs of each young person. Trained volunteer mentors work with the young person to achieve goals, build self-esteem, improve relationships, enhance academic performance, and engage in positive activities. Mentors provide a safe, trusted space for young people to discuss their challenges and feelings, fostering resilience and grow in a supportive, independent space.
