Government data shows young people’s exposure to drugs is increasing, as is the number using them. Social media is making access to drugs easy and normalising use. Scottish drug deaths continue to rise and are amongst the highest in Europe. Drug education is vital for all young people, to enable them to face choices about drugs safely, but there’s a huge lack of effective, evidence-based resources & support for schools, parents and professionals, making them more at risk of coming to harm.

Our flexible approach to drug education involves young people, parents, teachers and professionals. Drama is a powerful way to communicate with young people. Mark Wheeller’s play “I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die” is based on Daniel Spargo-Mabb’s life and death. It is a core part of our vision to support young people to make safer choices, one of a range of methods to help increase their understanding of the effects and risks of drugs and to improve their life-skills and resilience.
