Burns survivors often experience severe psychological trauma, including PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and profound isolation. Many struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, and difficulty reintegrating into society. However, access to specialist mental health support is extremely limited, leaving survivors without the critical care needed to process their trauma and rebuild their lives.
Our psychotherapist-led programme delivers specialist mental health support, helping burns survivors overcome trauma, anxiety, and isolation. With funding, we can expand access to therapy for over 100 survivors annually. This includes CBT, EMDR, and ACT to address PTSD and distress, suicide risk assessments, and peer/family support—empowering survivors to rebuild confidence and resilience. Funding will help cover the salary of a specialist psychotherapist, ensuring sustained, life-changing care.
