Dad Matters is addressing the critical yet often overlooked problem of paternal mental health and family wellbeing during the early stages of parenthood. New and expectant fathers frequently face isolation and anxiety, with research showing that 1 in 10 dads experience postnatal depression, yet they are underserved by family support. This gap leaves fathers without adequate resources to navigate emotional and practical challenges that strain family relationships and hinder child development.
Our mission is to empower dads to thrive by providing vital support, breaking the stigma around paternal mental health, and fostering strong family bonds. Through peer connection, tailored guidance, and community engagement, we bridge the gap in services for dads, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to navigate parenthood to build happier families. We provide support tailored to their needs, peer groups and connect them to services they can access regardless of their circumstances.
