Our singing and open groups use music therapy, singing and music listening for mental health recovery. People play instruments, improvise and/or sing together. We also have a group for unpaid carers. Expression, release, connection and support are key. 'your service is a real lifeline for me'

The adult mental health landscape in Bristol and Bath has seen increasing pressure in recent years, mirroring trends across the UK. Services in both cities have faced growing demand, with adult referrals to mental health services rising sharply with a 15% increase in adult mental health referrals in Bristol and 12% rise in Bath, with many patients experiencing long waiting times. Having non-verbal offerings, e.g. music therapy to express difficult, confusing and intense feelings is imperative.

Soundwell provides music therapy within the South West for adults with mental health needs. We support people in their mental health recovery and provide emotional support to carers, using music to explore creativity, communication and expression. This can rebuild hope and transform lives.
