Include.org is a small charity with a big vision: a world where no-one is excluded because of communication needs. Through activities like The Include Choir & wellbeing walks incorporating Makaton signing, people with communication disabilities connect with each other, with carers & the wider world.

20% of the UK population experience a communication difficulty in their lifetime. Being able to express yourself and be understood is fundamental to safety, wellbeing, opportunity, and identity. If you communicate differently it’s harder to build friendships, join leisure activities, find a job, volunteer, shop, use technology or access services and healthcare without support. These inequalities often lead to loneliness, isolation, lack confidence and poor mental health. Carers are isolated too

We tackle the challenges of communication needs through the application of Speech and Language Therapy expertise in fun ways that feel nothing like actual therapy! Include empowers people with understanding and speaking difficulties, their families and support workers to help design, deliver and feedback on the projects, services and training we provide. Include is on a mission to up-skill the wider community so that more people and services know how to be inclusive communication partners.
