Children and young people with SEND face major barriers to inclusion, often lacking access to safe play spaces and social opportunities. Half of our children have severe and multiple disabilities, requiring 1:1 or even 2:1 support due to complex needs. Many experience isolation, negative attitudes, and limited opportunities to engage in activities their peers take for granted. Almost 50% come from deprived areas, living in high-rise flats with no safe outdoor spaces.
For 45 years, The Log Cabin Charity has been a lifeline for SEND children, young people and families, offering inclusive adventure play, respite care, and skill-building activities in a safe, nurturing environment. We support over 200 children and young people annually, funds raised will provide trained staff, accessible facilities, and sensory-rich experiences, helping them build friendships, gain independence, and develop emotional resilience while giving families essential respite.
