The families we support are at risk of crisis, often lacking engagement with a declining support sector. 64% live in poverty and many in temporary accommodation. At the start, two thirds don’t have a support network and a third are struggling to manage their households. The children lack security, nutrition, play activities, equipment and learning opportunities. Without intervention, this will lead to vital care and development gaps, and to poor social, emotional, academic and economic outcomes.

Trained volunteers and experienced staff provide 1:1 practical and emotional support securing essentials, making plans for change and signposting to community resources. Group activities combat social isolation and stimulate social, physical and early-learning skills (e.g. storytelling, art & crafts, sensory play, open air fitness, walk&talks, day trips). 62% of families felt better able to manage their household budget after our help, 86% better supported by the community and 83% less isolated.
