As part of Earth Day celebrations, we are inviting young people to become an Earth Day Hero and create a project to raise awareness and take action on environmental issues that matter to them. Using creativity, problem solving, and learning, we are launching our Earth Day Heroes competition.

To tackle climate change, it's going to take all of us. Our engagement with local disadvantaged communities shows that many of them feel powerless in the wake of the climate crisis. Young people and those in marginalised communities are the most impacted by this crisis, but are least enabled to take action for change. Through harnessing the creativity of our diverse local communities, this project will enable young people to learn about and envision innovative solutions to the climate criss.

Young people need to see there is hope, there are solutions, and they can make a difference. Acknowledging and channelling their feelings into positive action and enabling them to share ideas with other young people will provide a positive lasting impact. Working with educators and diverse Community Champions, we are running a competition inviting young people across greater Bristol to create an impactful climate action initiative that benefits their school or local community.
