With COP30 as the focus, we will empower young people's own advocacy by helping to bridge the gap between decision-makers in the public space and secondary students. Events, preparation and support will enhance their own climate action, building knowledge about and skills for the green economy.

A clear message from over 20,000 young people across the country is that they want greater action on climate change, and they want to be part of the change. Yet many feel side-lined from decision-making in their schools and communities, with limited chances to contribute to policies and solutions. Schools are trusted sources of climate change information and inspiration. Real challenges are competing priorities, limited resources and inconsistent involvement so young people need ways to engage.
Addressing this challenge requires a shift in approach—one that empowers youth and values their input. We will create forums for youth voice in the public domain locally in at least two areas and excitingly that feed into COP30. With teachers and partners, we will support climate action outcomes for them and their schools and enable shared learning between them. Schools serving areas with higher pupil premium will be supported so that young people of all backgrounds can participate equally.
