Young people now pay the high environmental cost for previous generations’ throw-away culture and plastic waste. GENeration ReuZe is designed to give 18–25 year-olds a say in how the future circular economy should work and gives them a seat at the table with government leaders and legislators.

A plastic crisis is all young people know. With Brits throwing away 1.7 billion pieces of plastic packaging a week and 14 million tonnes of plastic entering our oceans each year, the problem is far from solved. Political negotiations to cap plastic production have stalled and startling studies are linking chemicals in plastic and microplastics to obesity, fertility decline and cancers. Our young supporters want a different future, and GENeration ReuZe gives them a way to make it happen.

We will take on this challenge by employing and training the circular economy change-makers of the future, supporting them to create their compelling vision and new campaigns, and build their careers. GENeration ReuZe will take over City to Sea’s communications channels, policy strategy and parliamentary events. Their confident voices, creative content and informed political asks will raise awareness among young people and convince UK government to act on plastic pollution.
