Expand our reach to make sharing and repairing more accessible to people in areas less well served. Through delivering more borrowing, repair cafes and workshop opportunities we will reduce waste and carbon. Change behaviour and improve our environment.

Situation
In 2022, according to the World Health Organisation - humans were responsible for the creation of an estimated 62 million tonnes of e-waste; reportedly enough to fill trucks bumper-to-bumper stretching around the equator. This is expected to increase to 82 million tonnes by 2030. The UK is second in the world for the disposal of e-waste, per capita. We work with our community to help them to do more to reduce waste through repair and reuse. Waste represents 20% of carbon emissions.
Solution
We will continue to establish easy, accessible and affordable practical solutions which empower people to make informed decisions, to take action and to make a difference. We will increase opportunities to borrow, repair, upskill and inform (especially children and young people). We will target areas under-served and work with local partners and volunteers to inspire participation.
