In 2022, according to the World Health Organisation - humans were responsible for the creation of an estimated 62 million tonnes of e-waste; reportedly enough to fill trucks bumper-to-bumper stretching around the equator. This is expected to increase to 82 million tonnes by 2030. The UK is second in the world for the disposal of e-waste, per capita. We work with our community to help them to do more to reduce waste through repair and reuse. Waste represents 20% of carbon emissions.

We will continue to establish easy, accessible and affordable practical solutions which empower people to make informed decisions, to take action and to make a difference. We will increase opportunities to borrow, repair, upskill and inform (especially children and young people). We will target areas under-served and work with local partners and volunteers to inspire participation.
