Mental health & wellbeing are huge issues across society, a situation exacerbated by COVID-19 and the cost-of-living crisis, leading to 1 in 5 young people experiencing negative mental health. Preventative interventions are vital as 50% of mental health issues are established by age 14, so supporting mental resilience at a young age is crucial to reduce the chance of mental health issues both short-term and in the future.

METTLE both raises awareness of mental health as well as challenging the stigma around it. Through the essential skills the programme builds mental resilience in young people to better equip them with dealing with their mental health challenges. The interactive, evidence-based series of workshops are underpinned by positive psychology and solution-focused thinking and give young people the tools they need to manage their emotions, overcome setbacks, and promote positive mental health.
