PfL helps farmers across the British Isles restore biodiversity and reduce fossil fuel use & GHG emissions. We do this through farmer-farmer learning: events, online discussion and mentoring and direct support. Real Farming Trust is PfL’s Big Give charity partner and will process donations.

Situation
70% of the UK is farmed, 70% of farmland is grazed but these grasslands are typically monocultures reliant on artificial fertiliser. In addition, 50% of UK grain crops are also fed to animals to speed their growth. It doesn’t have to be this way. Pasture for Life farmers transform grazing practices to harness the power of sun and soil, supercharge nature's recovery through diversity and remove inputs like feed and fertiliser. Many still don’t think this is possible. Help us demonstrate it is!
Solution
We know farmers learn best from other farmers. PfL builds community (1,500 paid up members, 10,000 supporters) around these nature and climate positive farming practices, casting progressive farmers as the heroes and drivers of change. Our knowledge exchange programmes (mentoring, internships, online discussion and events - 200+ in 2024) is validated by research showing a positive correlation between length of membership of PfL and carbon and biodiversity as well as positive farmer mental health
